· Renders appropriate interview, interpretive, preventive, and counseling services to students from all year levels;
· Maintains students’ records and ensures confidentiality of the same;
· Consults with students, parents, teachers, administrators pertaining to students’ concerns and welfare according to existing policies, rules/regulations and ethical guidelines;
· Conducts studies and researches relevant to the SWC’s programs and services;
· Prepares and submits relevant reports to the SWC Director;
· Coordinates with the key units/ offices in the University regarding the implementation of the SWC programs and;
· Refers students for specialized services e.g. psychological assessments, psychiatric intervention, legal assistance, medical assistance, and related services.
· Provides career counseling to assist students by assessing their interests, skills & abilities, personality types as well as their personal, family and economic concerns;
· Organizes and facilitates seminars, group sessions and other similar activities to share information relevant to student adjustment to university life, to improve academic performance; and to bring about personal growth.
