- Qualification: A University bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with proficiency in English Language.
- Experience: +7 years in a major Electricity Utility Organization / protection relays manufacturer with experience in testing, commissioning, maintenance, replacement of the protection system, devices, auxiliary wiring systems and relays of all equipment and installations in MV substation (MV switchgear, Dry & Oil Transformers and LV switchgear) of Voltage levels up to and including 33 KV.
- The candidate shall be conversant with all types and versions of switchgears (metal clad- metal closed-GIS- AIS- RMU- etc.) and oil & dry distribution transformers in distribution network.
- The candidate should have a sound and proven technical knowledge of installation, commissioning, performance, maintenance and testing of all the above protection system components.
- The candidate should have a knowledge of Power Systems Engineering within a substation environment and understanding of secondary system design / commissioning and knowledge of relevant communication protocols (e.g., IEC61850, etc.)
- The candidate should have sufficient knowledge/ proven experience, and or authorized certificates from any of the relevant manufacturers or utilities of electrical distribution protection equipment.
- The candidate shall be able to follow, apply and or verify the manufacturer / client settings and grading of protection equipment of an electric power distribution system to maintain the reliable service.
- The candidate shall be able to conduct all necessary pre-commissioning and commissioning tests for the protection systems and its accessories such as CT, VT, CVD, etc., such as primary injection, secondary injection, schematic drawings verifications, auxiliary wirings verification and testing.
- The candidate shall be able to carry out fault-finding at sites as part of the commissioning process for the protection system, auxiliary wiring, components, etc.
- The candidate shall be able to conduct and lead Training practical programs for internal Technicians in the testing, commissioning, and protection scheme verification.
- The candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and be able to effectively interact with customers, support staff, and various levels of management. Required.
- The candidate should have computer literacy with proficiency in Windows environments and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and Project. Ability to learn new applications and operating systems as required.
- The candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to work well in team situations; be willing and able to lead and participate in cross-functional teams as required.
