The Growth Company’s Education and skills team have an exciting new opportunity for a Math and English IQA who will be accountable for effectively planning, communicating, implementing, tracking, managing and leading the curriculum and resource planning for English and Maths across GC Education and Skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in the development of English and Maths Curriculum
  • Develop schemes and work and curriculum plans which deliver agreed targets
  • Take part in the OTLA planning process to ensure English and Maths remain high priority and visibly measured for effective learning
  • To lead on GSCE / FS awarding body arrangements
  • Working with the Exams officer to ensure Exam Regulations (testing, invigilation and collation of results)
  • To implement the English and Maths Strategy / Policy across GC Education and Skills
  • Co-operate and collaborate with GC Education and Skills colleagues, in order to support the effective delivery of timely achievement
  • To plan and prioritise changing needs for Maths and English across the business
  • To ensure staff resources are effectively managed and developed, delivery plans are adhered to and they are held accountable for delivering successful outcomes for learners in English and Maths
  • Matrix management to the FS delivery team – sharing best practice and standardisation
  • Identify staff development needs to meet and exceed minimum professional requirements and to ensure efficient operational practice
  • Incorporate the company’s health and safety and safeguarding arrangements for staff and customers in everything we do
  • Management of Curriculum resources and aligned staff caseload management
  • Support teams by reviewing and developing curriculum to ensure innovative and engaging delivery
  • Quality assure teaching, training and assessment delivery to ensure English and Maths is embedded where appropriate and delivered to a high standard to promote learning
  • Support all stakeholders to ensure high quality curriculum offer and outcomes
  • Lead the implementation and development of all Maths and English digital learning materials
  • Implement appropriate policies and procedures to ensure delivery meets all contractual requirements, compliance and quality indicators to reduce risk and maximise return.
  • Implement self-assessment processes within the team(s) to inform QIPs
  • Promote high quality, effective English and Maths teaching and learning within all areas
  • To lead delivery staff on good practice in teaching English and Maths

Skills Required

  • Post 16 Teaching Qualification - PGCE
  • Maths and/or English Subject Specialism (Level 5 specialist)
  • Level 3 or above Maths and English qualification
  • Train the trainer experience and flexibility to work across a multi-site operation and visit employer premises
  • Experience of developing staff
  • Communication and influencing skills
  • Car driver and owner
  • Barriers facing disengaged students and Maths and English engagement techniques
  • Initial assessment of learning & development needs – aligning to staff resources
  • Working knowledge of the Education Inspection Framework and Ofsted
  • Credibility through a proven track record of success in changing culture to recognise the shift in delivering English and Maths that has led to good or outstanding outcomes for learners, exemplary delivery and motivating teams to achieve

  • 8 hour shift
